My name is Veneca Silva, I’m a first year, and this is my masters commission experience.
If I could describe Masters Commission in one phrase, it would defiantly be, “Life Changing!”
I come from a “broken” family. Both my parents remarried. I have 4 brothers on my dad’s side and 2 brothers and 2 sisters on my moms side. I am the oldest! Both of my Dad’s and I have not had the best relationships. I have never really trusted my step dad because my real dad was never really apart of my life. So needless to say I am definitely a mammas girl!
My mom didn’t really have an awesome childhood so she tried extra hard to give me the best one I could possibly have. So in some ways, I didn’t have any responsibilities(which didn’t do me any good later down the road but we will get to that). I was a good child. I never really got in trouble, never got spanked, and I basically lived life thinking “I love life, no worries.” Hahaha. Little did I know, I wasn’t really living reality!
Masters Commission is defiantly a dose of reality, so this is where life changing comes into masters commission! Who knew that it couldn’t always be your way? Who knew that there would be a man in my life that would never leave me or forsake me? Who knew that it wasn’t okay to just walk away if you don’t agree, if it was just to hard or you just didn’t want to hear it? Who knew? Apparently not me! You are placed in a setting way out of your comfort zone. Who you are, is not who you are supposed to be! Life Changing! Now a big part is about God molding you into the person that he has called you to be, but at the same time he has called you to minister to his people! So if you are not good at street ministry, speaking in front of hundreds of people, or acting, you are in for a ride! Masters Commission is all about taking you out of your comfort zone! Speaking of “Comfort Zones,” you live in a house with roughly 7 or 8, maybe more or maybe less, girls! HAHAHA. That in itself can be a big life changing experience!
You learn patience, selflessness, and you learn to be understanding. In this experience you learn to work with people you would never normally interact with. You learn to deal with personalities and differences in a Godly way! Key word “Life Changing.”
My masters commission experience is definitely an awesome experience. There were good times and hard times. Times when I was on fire for the Lord and felt like I could touch him and then there were times where I could barely feel him at all. You get to make a difference in people’s lives, that hopefully will last a lifetime. I think one of the best parts is that you get to experience this with about 20 other people you grow to learn and love. It’s a fun, unknown, “Life Changing” experience. Are you Up for the challenge?
Love,
Veneca – 1st year @ PMC
